I was doing some experimentation with fill flash for this shot. The statue is very hard to photograph — it’s very dark, and not very reflective, so a lot of the detail gets lost. Add to that the fact that it basically has no color, and it’s a recipe for an ugly photo. I think this actually does ok, though:
