I missed last week’s photo, it was hard for me to come up with something that fit the theme. I’m hoping to come back to it sometime in the future. This week’s theme was “Isolate Subject”; Chelsea says,
Oftentimes the subject stands on its own. When this is the case, isolating it will really allow it to shine. Find an element of interest and make it the prime directive of the image.
Here’s what I got:
This was a pair of mourning doves hanging out by our house; I’m reasonably positive they were nesting, the male kept flying away and then bringing back sticks that the female would then drop on the ground (A for effort, I guess, Mr. Mourning Dove?)
I’m not 100% sure this satisfies the theme; there are a lot of distracting wires and other elements in the shot, but I still feel like the subject is pretty isolated by focus, if not by other visual elements. I had a few other shots where the mourning doves were actually pretty isolated, but I just didn’t like them as well. *shrug*
