Total Solar Eclipse 2017 |

We went to John Day, Oregon, earlier this year to see the total solar eclipse, and it was pretty phenomenal. It took me a little while to get all my photos processed, but I’m really happy with the results!

This is a timelapse that I took of the eclipse that I’m really proud of:

Here are a couple close-ups of the corona during totality:

1/400s, f/7.1, ISO 800, 300 mm

You can actually see a couple solar prominences in this one, which was pretty amazing to me:

The diamond ring:

1/40s, f/9, ISO 1600, 24 mm

And several close-ups of the sun, taken with a solar filter. Note that you can see several sunspots as well!

All in all, it was a pretty amazing experience and I can’t wait for the next one!
